At the risk of sounding pretentious, I have to make a note here that I received another artist grant from Irish Writers Centre today. The two grants and bursaries I have received this year are two different, short-term programmes and I am looking forward to both.
That’s it. I just want to stay focussed on my work, and am eternally grateful for everything that comes my way – bouquets or brickbats.
Last year, I nearly died. I am still on treatment for blood clots. I remember this. This is another go at life and nothing can stop me from doing what I love.
